Diamond
and WC wire dies are used for drawing several types of metals
for different applications. Copper wire is used for motors
and electrical transmission. Tungstun is drawn for lighting
filaments; steel for tire cord and fencing. As the die becomes
worn, dimension and finish are lost and the dies are usually
refurbished. This consists of reshaping the die to achieve
a new diameter and profile then polishing to achieve a final
surface finish. |
